Shipping & Return Policy

Shipping

Orders in Finland are sent via Posti (pakettiautomaatti) and abroad generally via Posti or UPS. The items will be sent with a tracking number for the benefit of both parties. 

When the products are made and/ or ready to be shipped, they are dispatched asap. We will keep you up to date on how your order is processed by email. Delivery time after the dispatching of the order within Finland and Europe is 2-6 working days and to outside Europe 7-14 working days.

Damaged or defective merchandise

We’ll always repair any damages due to production issues on my end at my discretion. Please note that due to the nature of materials, my products are fragile and should be handled with care. If upon reception of the product, you believe that it is not how it should be, you should immediately contact us via e-mail, indicating the product information and the defects found (please add a clear photo of the damage part and the whole product). Damages must be documented and reported within 5 days of receiving the order. All claims are to be written and official, referring to the relevant information, including your personal and product order information. In the event that this claim is admitted, the responsibility of Ateljee Ahonen will be strictly limited to the replacement of the defective product at no extra charge, or the possibility of offering a refund for the cost of the order. Ateljee Ahonen is not responsible for damages done by the transportation company.

Returns

If for some reason you are not satisfied with the item you have purchased, you can return your order within 14 days of delivery. All of the returned items must be in the same condition and in the original, undamaged packaging as they were when purchased. To begin the return process, please send us an email first to get more detailed information. All returns must always be sent with a tracking code and notified to us in advance. Returns can only be processed once the returned product has arrived back to me and its condition has been checked. Please notice that discounted or custom-made products can not be returned unless they are damaged or defective merchandise.

In the case of damaged or defective merchandise, we will try to replace these items with an identical, undamaged item. Please notice that all our products are unique and producing exactly similar item can be impossible. To begin the return process, please send us an email within 5 days of receiving the order to get more information. We cannot accept returns due to slight color or size differentiations, due to the fact that products are individually handmade. All returned products have to be properly repacked in their original packaging and in perfect conditions. In such case we will refund the sum paid, minus the costs of shipping. Refunds can be made after we receive the returned items. You are responsible for all costs of returning the goods. If the goods are not properly repacked and therefore cannot be resold as new, we reserve the right to apply a charge of 30% of the price you paid for the goods, which you agree we may discount from your refund for the goods. If the goods are damaged whilst in your care or if you fail to return all parts of the goods, we have the right to withhold payment of all or part of the refund in respect of the goods as compensation for our loss on these goods. Please notice that if the product has two or more separate parts, each part must be wrapped in its own paper to keep them intact from transport.

Unclaimed shipment

Failure to pick up a shipment is not the same as returning or canceling an order. If the order is returned to Ateljee Ahonen without being picked up, we will automatically refund the money for the ordered products, excl. the postage costs of the order and the costs arising from the return of the order (In Finland 12.50€/Posti pakettiautomaatti, other countries/couriers are priced individually).

We will not resend uncollected orders unless otherwise agreed. If you want to receive the ordered products again, you can place a new order through our online store. A telephone number and / or e-mail address provided incorrectly by the subscriber may result in the arrival notification not being received and the order being returned to Ateljee Ahonen as undisclosed. Ateljee Ahonen is entitled to charge the costs of an uncollected shipment even if the arrival notification has not been received due to incomplete information provided by the subscriber or for other reasons beyond the company's control. So please check your contact details carefully when placing your order so that the arrival notification arrives.

When ordering in Finland, please take into account the Posti's storage times (7 days in Posti service points and pakettiautomaatti. Weekends and public holidays are included in this 7 days depending on the opening hours of the pick-up point). Ateljee Ahonen is not responsible for orders not picked up as a result of travel and other expenses.
